ABOUT ME
Rebecca Adlam, BHS - Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy, Dip HSc Massage & Sports Therapy, Dip HSc Therapeutic Massage, Mahi Wairua

Integrating the mātauranga 'knowledge' handed down to me by my teachers and mentors, and the guidance of my tūpuna 'ancestors', I am committed to empowering kiritaki (clients) to achieve quality of life and wellbeing that is sustainable and enriching.
Graduating in 2014 with my Bachelor in Health Studies, Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy, I approach each session identifying with models of healthcare such as Te Whare Tapa Wha, Te Wheke, and Meihana and the guidance of my tūpuna.
It is an essential part of hauora (health and well-being) practice to recognise that no two people and no two bodies are the same, and that each day comes with emotional, physical, mental and spiritual events. Each event will be experienced differently to the next person so a health practitioner's approach to the hauora of our kiritaki is not a linear one.
Two of the vital components found in each of the models is whānau or whānaungatanga, which can be identified as the relationships that a person affiliates to or identifies with. What gives them a sense of belonging and identity. The other is Wairua.
Wairua is an integral part of how I practice. Wairua is the healer. I am the facilitator. Weaving together the guidance from Wairua, āku Tūpuna, mātauranga Māori me te mātauranga o te whare wānanga to facilitate a pathway to your haerenga whakaora.
Registered with Massage New Zealand, Complete Therapy is a professional massage service delivered to you by me, the owner/operator. Giving you the stability and security of knowing your hauora is paramount when providing professional massage therapy in the comfort of my whare haumanu (clinic).
Previously a tutor at the New Zealand College of Massage and Wellpark College of Natural Therapies.
With a forté in Clinical Therapeutics, Professional Practice and Health Psychology, I take a lot of pride in my chosen profession as a massage therapist and tutor and am very privileged to share in your journey to wellness. I am currently teaching Neuromuscular anatomy in the Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage with the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy.
I have been privileged to have worked with various NZ and Australian sports teams within the NRL and NBL leagues being a therapist for the NZ Breakers for six years assisting in their pre and post game recovery as well as game nights. I have also worked with NZ Netball teams and remain a member of the massage team for the Silver Ferns and a Sports Massage therapist for the annual WTA ASB Classic Tennis Tournament.
Outside of the classroom and clinic you may find me at a holistic market. If not there I will be deep in my own personal haerenga in Te Ao Māori and reaffirming my mana motuhake as wahine Māori. I am a tauira in the Mahi Wairua Practitioners course with Matua Wiremu and Kōkā Lesley NiaNia as well as filling up my kete with te reo Māori me whakapapa me mātauranga ki te Ao Māori.
